Republicans as Dumb as Democrats?

Michael Moore, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton have nothing on Hugh Hewitt, Rush Limbaugh, and Laura Ingraham. The thing I never liked about Moore, MoveOn.org, and the left in general, is how all of the leftist and lefty followers out there, were just that- followers. They never thought for themselves, just just repeated the same garbage over and over again. Now it seems my beloved republican brethern have the same problem.

Hugh Hewitt, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, and a multitude of other conservative pundits have done a fine job pronouncing the name "Reagan", and have done a fine job calling Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), liberal. They've handed out the talking points: McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy (which was really McCain-Kennedy-Bush, let us not forget), and the "gang of 14". Now, that it looks like McCain could win the nomination, all the republicans/conservatives who drink the kool aid of the talk radio / Fox News majority, are considering sitting out the election if McCain is chosen as the nominee.

I've heard these same anti-McCain pundits asking if the conservative majority can survive McCain. It's not McCain we need to survive, it's these pundits. For all the complaining they do about the "liberal media", they've done as much to harm the GOP as the NY Times, CBS, and The Tribune combined. The kool aid drinking talk radio fans have bought into the 'McCain is a liberal' (yes, a pro national security, pro second amendment, pro life, pro tax cut, anti gay marriage liberal) myth, and now that he might win it, whose going to take the blame when he doesn't get the ground-swell of conservative voter support? I can tell you who won't take the blame, Micahel Medved.

Out of all the flavors of media to choose from today, Michael Medved seems to be the only person vocally supporting McCain, and making the case that he [McCain] is not a liberal. He works with democrats, yes, but he is not a liberal. Isn't that what this country needs right about now? Someone who can actually work with people and compromise, and represent the majority of Americans? It seems to me, that the problem is, McCain tries to actually weigh the issues in what he's doing, like he's playing chess, while the pundits and their consumers are all playing checkers. I am hearing too many people just regurgitating what they've heard. Don't get me wrong, Hewitt, Limbaugh, and Ingraham are all people whom I respect, and listen to (obviously if I know what they're saying), and I don't blame them for their opinions on McCain. If they don't like him [McCain] God bless them, it's their show, let them say whatever they want as long as it's true. I blame the republican listeners and readers for being as dumb as the democrats.
